Brehm Preparatory School is dedicated to helping students with learning disabilities discover and reach their full potential. We are a boarding school and take a holistic approach to address the many issues associated with special educational needs. There is no one definitive way to undertake teaching child with learning disability. At Brehm, we encourage our students to discover their strengths and limitations and help to design a lifestyle that will help them to succeed in school and beyond. We are more than a simple disability learning school. We train children to be successful throughout life. It may be difficult to separate from your child. Learning disabilities, particularly the complex disabilities found among our student body, require a very special environment to maximize the educational process. Brehm Preparatory School provides that environment.
At Brehm, we try to incorporate self-discovery into the education process. Teaching child with learning disability is never easy. It will be easier, however, when the student is very aware of the breadth and depth of their problems. Their input is invaluable in the journey towards self reliance and success. We include learning cognition in our curriculum. This is a process that teaches the students about various learning disabilities so that they are able to discuss and explore their personal challenges. From that point they can begin to find their own personal keys to success.
We realize that many parents are reluctant to send their children to a boarding school. Often, though, parents realize that we are the best opportunity for their child. Learning disabilities do not disappear or fade away. As successful as our program is, and 75% of our graduates go on to college, we can not cure these conditions. We can only train our students to manage and overcome their challenges.
