Schools For Learning Disability Help

Many parents come to the conclusion that their children with learning disabilities need to attend a specialized school. There are many schools for learning disability help in some areas and precious few in others. In many cases, a boarding school will provide the best platform for the programs necessary to help children overcome their challenges and when the students live on site, proximity to home is less of an issue since there will not be a daily commute. When evaluating an LD school, the first consideration is whether or not they will be able to address your child's specific condition. Although a school can successfully treat several types of disorders, a program designed to help dyslexic students will not necessarily be effective for those with attention deficit disorder. Many of the most successful programs around the country are designed to take a comprehensive approach and deal with several issues in a child's life. Some children may have two or more learning disabilities, such as ADD and dyslexia, but often the additional issues that need to be considered are emotional. There is a correlation between depression and other conditions and learning disabilities. There are often gaps in social skill development to tackle as well.

Brehm, A Boarding LD School

At Brehm Preparatory School, our mission to help every student realize their full potential. Unlike schools for learning disability students that focus solely on academic success, we take a holistic approach. As a boarding school, we have the ability to help each student develop individualized strategies for success, not just in their educational career but in their lives. Our students are able to thrive in a caring, nurturing environment that prepares them for life after high school. We are more than simply an LD school because we take the time to address so many issues that may affect our student body, such as substance abuse and depression. History shows us to be successful as well. 75% of Brehm graduates go on to attend college while others choose to enter the work force, the military or alternate post-secondary education programs. We often are able to accept students even during the school year. Contact us to learn more about Brehm Preparatory School, our campus and our philosophy today.
