Nonverbal Learning Disability Math Success Strategies

Brehm Preparatory School is a boarding school dedicated to helping students with complex learning disabilities achieve their true potential. Many students come to Brehm with attention or reading disorders such as ADHD and dyslexia. In fact, many have combinations of such disorders. Brehm Preparatory School is also able to help students with a nonverbal learning disability. Math is a particularly difficult subject for many of these students. It almost seems designed to exploit their weaknesses, in fact. Math requires an ability to organize information, connect different statements in relevant ways and often even incorporates spatial relation skills, all of these are weak areas for the student with NVLD. Brehm Preparatory School is able to assist these students with nonverbal learning disability match success strategies. Group learning, for example, can be of a tremendous benefit. Students will learn many techniques to help organize information. Another effective technique is to integrate the use of assistive technologies.

Of course, there is no one way to help every student with NVLD issues. If there were, Brehm Preparatory School would be able to publish a textbook or DVD seminar to distribute to educators across the country to help as many students as possible. Instead, NVLD students must be helped individually. Brehm's dedication to the holistic approach will not only help your child identify and express their disabilities, they will help design strategies that work for them, capitalizing on strengths and attacking weaknesses. By utilizing these strategies, students will be able to fulfill their potential. Contact us today to learn more about our philosophies, campus and success rate. We look forward to the opportunity to help you child achieve everything they are capable of in life.
