Medical & Clinical

The Health and Well-Being building is home to two departments, Nursing and Clinical. The two departments work together to ensure our students are physically and emotionally healthy.

The medical and clinical support team consists of highly experienced, dedicated, qualified nursing administrators, registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, social workers, counselors, and clinical psychologists — who continuously assess our students’ medical, psychiatric, and psychological needs.

Health & Well-Being

Through direct education and counseling of students, as well as coordination with teachers, the residential staff, and Brehm’s kitchen staff, the medical and clinical support team promotes healthy lifestyle choices such as proper nutrition, diet, personal hygiene, and exercise.

This ensures that each student is in the best physical and emotional health possible to benefit from the Brehm experience.

Nursing Department

Nurses manage student medications, coordinate appointments, keep parents updated, and are on campus from 7:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on school days and on-call after hours and on weekends. Nursing also provides space and care for students who are not physically able to be in class.

Clinical Department

The clinical team recommends physicians, psychologists, and psychiatrists locally and at home. Through the clinical team, students can participate in support groups such as the Formalized Social Skills Group, Transition Support Group, and others based on the current students’ needs. Past groups include the Adoption Group, Women’s Empowerment Group, and Dialectic Behavior Therapy Group.
